Day 34
So, I have two (2) vertical gardens. These are my 'Tower Gardens' and I love them. In the directions, It specifically states, "For best results, water should be free from chlorine..."
So, I put two buckets of water out each day so that by tomorrow, the chlorine is evaporated (or should be) and I can add it as needed to the garden basin. The gardens provide daily lettuce and lots and lots of tomatoes. They also drink about 10 gallons of water daily.
Herein is the problem. I don't want the water buckets too far from the gardens because I don't want to have to haul them (at about 8 pounds per gallon, that makes each bucket about 40 pounds!). So the buckets are right next to the gardens, which are conveniently located next to the mulched walkway that covers the ground of our traditional garden area.
Did I mention one of my sons has friends who are 4 and 6? I would like to tell you the next event happened without my son's involvement at all, that the neighbor children thought up the entire experience on their own, that full blame was on the 'other kids'. But that would be a LIE!
I would like to say that the event wasn't inspired by the actions of one of my sons, but it WAS!
This picture says it all! Nearly 10 gallons of water-logged mulch! PERFECT!
Fresh, chlorinated water it was!
