He Likes Cougars!

I went to pick up our youngest from the nursery class in our church last week.

As I walked in, the four ladies there all looked at me and smiled, like they knew something I didn't. Now, I didn't know what they were thinking, but I immediately thought my zipper was down, or something equally as embarrassing.

Finally, one of them asked me "So, who are his girlfriends?"
"Girlfriends?" I responded.

The story came out that the children discussed things they were thankful for in their nursery class (18 months-3 years in age). Our youngest, at 2 1/2 years old, mentioned 'mommy' and 'daddy' a frog (?), and his girlfriends.

This was news to me.

So, on the way home from church, I asked him, "Hey, kiddo. What are the things you told your teachers you are thankful for?"

He answered pretty much the same things his nursery leaders had shared, and he also added that he was thankful for his girlfriends.

"Girlfriends?" questioned his mother.

I asked, "So, who are your girlfriends?"

Using his best 2 1/2 year old English, he explained that the two little girls who live down the street from us are his girlfriends. One of those girls is 8, the other is 6.

Good grief, I believe I am in trouble. The kid likes cougars!
