Dream Cars

Day 188

I am amazed at how quickly my boys have taken to identifying cars on the road. So much so that arguments often break on what kind of car just passed on the freeway going to other direction.

Both my middle boys have determined their dream cars. For the 9 year old, it's a Chevy Camaro, and his younger brother reminds him of that every time we pass ANY sports car. "There's your favorite car!" he'll yell. Then, comes the corrections, "No, that's a ____________."

Sometimes the corrections are correct and other times, they are not. For me it's comical.

On our most recent trip to the grocery store, as we pulled in, the yelling began. "Look! There it is! Your favorite car!" Then, a reverent silence came from both of them as they admired the sleek design and cherry-red color.

The boys SO wanted to touch it. But they held back, the older of the two saying, "Don't touch it! They have alarms on these things that automatically call the police!" "Ohhhhhhhh." said the younger.

I convinced them that it would be just fine to take a picture of them next to their 'dream car'. I see a 'car show' in the future for these boys.
