What Black Eye?!

Day 94

So, I was in the living room with the family. And this is the conversation my wife and I had:

Wife (W): "So, what happened to your youngest son?"
Me (M): "What do you mean?"
W: "Didn't you notice the black eye?"
M: "Black eye?!"
W: "And it happened on YOUR watch."

Now, I've learned a lot of things, but I learned something new today:

Man's definitions and women's definitions are sometimes totally not the same. Webster only had it half right in so many cases.

"Bruise near the eye" and "Black eye" are NOT separate and different conditions.

Unfortunately, even if Webster HAD prompted me beforehand, I still would have to answer, "Uh, I don't know," because I truly have no idea how he got that bruise.

Before you get worried, it's almost invisible now, and it probably happened when he fell into something (he is a toddler, and he is a professional at falling occasionally).
