BRING ME SOME RAGS! "Why?" JUST BRING ME SOME RAGS!!!

Day 49

Do you know how long it takes to wash dishes when this happens?

Just ask 'DAWN', you know, the dish detergent.

It takes about 7 hours!

Step 1
  • First you load the dishes after a good rinse. Then, you add the dish detergent (though you're not supposed to do that, really, don't try it). After you notice the suds pouring out of the bottom of the dishwasher, you SCREAM for someone to bring you a bunch of rags or towels to help clean up the mess.
  • When your wife calls, "Soap suds? Coming out of the bottom of the dishwasher?!"
  • You answer, "There's dish soap in the dishwasher!"
  • When your wife yells, "DISH SOAP?! WHO DID THAT?!"
  • You call back, "Just get me the rags!"
Step 2
  • After you clean up the original mess, you let the dish washer sit for a while, to let the suds calm down a little.
Step 3
  • Then, just to test it and see if it's ready to really wash them again, you close the door and turn on the dishwasher again. After a few minutes, the suds will continue to pour out of the bottom of the dishwasher door. That's your signal to turn off the dishwasher and begin step 4.
Step 4
  • Empty the dishwasher and put all the 'almost clean dishes' into the sink (again) and then begin the process of emptying the water out of the dishwasher.
  • Do you know how many bowls of clean water it takes to empty the suds out of a dishwasher that has been loaded with dish detergent instead of dish WASHER detergent? ABOUT 50!!!
Step 5
  • After all the water and suds are out, run the dishwasher on a 'Rinse only' cycle to get the remaining soap out of the system.
Step 6
  • While the dishwasher is running the rinse cycle, you can go ahead of wash the dishes because you have just poured about 50 bowls of soapy water all over them and now they can be scrubbed just a bit and they will be clean!
Step 7
  • When the dishwasher finishes that cycle, load the dishes that were once in the dishwasher back into the dishwasher for a good RINSE!
Step 8
  • Load the soap dispenser with dishwasher detergent.
Step 9
  • Press start.
Think for a minute. Remember that you have already washed the dishes and don't want to wait for 6 hours for the dishwasher to finish another load of dishes.

Step 10
  • Stop the dishwasher cycle. Open the door and remove the dishwasher detergent.
Step 11
  • Close the dish washer and press the 'Rinse' button to rinse off the dishes you have already washed while you waited for the dishwasher to finish the rinse cycle the FIRST time you ran it.
Step 12
  • When the rinse cycle finishes, recognize that you NEVER, EVER, EVER, want to go through that again! Open the dishwasher and begin putting the dishes away (some drying may be needed).
ON THE BRIGHT SIDE, THE FLOOR IS CLEAN. :)
