Mopping the Floor

Day 10

I have always wondered how it is that moms are able to do so much. Like the day my wife said something like, "Today I only did 35 loads of laundry, baked 16 loaves of bread, changed the sheets on all the beds..." (something like that).

I just can't figure this out. I get up in the morning, look at the clock and think, "OK. I have just over 14 hours to work on the house today. Surely I can get some noticeable things done." And yet, it doesn't seem to happen the way I envision it.

Mopping the Floor. I get this one. I figured out how to get the floor mopped. It starts like this:

  1. Get out the ice cube tray to make yourself a nice glass of ice water.
  2. Fill up the empty cubes with fresh water.
  3. Open up the freezer to put back in the tray.
  4. Have an ice pack fall out of the freezer and knock the ice cube tray to the floor spilling all the water.
  5. Grab a ton of rags and towels to clean up the water before it destroys the laminate flooring.
