Pasta Sauce and Look BEFORE You Remove that Diaper!

Day 40

Red pasta sauce is the bane of my existence. It's the only food on our menu that I have to strip the youngest kid down to barely anything in order to preserve his clothing from red blotchy stains. As you can tell, he enjoyed his dinner of broccoli, noodles and sauce (homemade pasta sauce...yes...my little domestic self has figured out how to use tomatoes from our garden to create pasta sauce). Down to the last drop.

Having learned my lesson from a previous child who ruined several outfits while I 'fought the ENTIRE time to keep his hands away from his clothes. Now, before serving the meal, I strip him to his diaper and then lose all guilt, hand him the bowl and not really care how he looks when we're finished.

We're back to cloth diapers again.

Positive:
We're saving money by not throwing away disposables.

Negative:
They don't change the same way.

Cloth diapers don't change like disposable...OH NO! Disposable diapers have these two convenient flaps you peel back and a little flap you can grasp and peek inside to make sure there are no surprises.

Cloth diapers require a little more care. Let's just say, it's a science I haven't entirely mastered. By now, you would think I had.

The OTHER mess I cleaned up this evening wasn't so pleasant, nor easy. Of COURSE, it happened AFTER I had given him his bath. I must have changed 10 pee diapers today. One positive, our child is well hydrated.

And if I had thought that because I hadn't changed a poopy diaper all day today there was a good chance that I would before the end of the evening, then I wouldn't have just ripped the diaper from off his back side so quickly. EVEN IF I HAD MY CAMERA I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SNAP A PICTURE BECAUSE MY HANDS, THE FLOOR, HIS CLOTHES...AAAAACKKKKK!!!
