I set myself to helping two local boys, cub scouts (one of them my own) finish their pine wood derby cars BEFORE the race day, which, in itself, is quite the accomplishment. Late Thursday evening, the day before we left for a training in Indianapolis, and WOULDN'T, mind you, be at the race of said pine wood derby cars, I completed the final touches the boys couldn't do...yeah, I know, they could have done them...let's NOT go there.
I was watching 3 boys, from 19 months to 9 years and was trying desperately NOT to let any of them get hurt while finishing their cars. I wish I had watched a little more carefully my 19 month old.
Somehow, his organizational ideas follow those of his older brothers. Baskets AREN'T the place for drill bits and the like. NO! Let's dump them all the bottom of the drawer and on the floor!
The boys finished their cars (before going to bed...and then I finished the cars a little further). I haven't cleaned up the garage yet, and especially not the drawer...I'm leaving it as a gentle reminder that next time, when I'm working in the garage while watching the littlest one, I need a playpen.
